B. Creative Design & Services selected, sourced, led installation, and styled all the live, artificial, and custom-made plants, trees, and pottery for this red-carpet event. This included large woodland forest vignettes at the entrance, dressing of photo ops and sponsor activations, centerpieces for tables and buffets, as well as a VIP green room.
Disney entrusted us with the entire plantscape for this world premier event. Plants were selected based on the style of the film. Most trees, plants and flowers were live. Two specific plants did not exist so we had them custom made to bridge the world of animation to reality. Lucky guests might have caught a glimpse of one of the hundreds of colorful magic “fireflies” inhabiting our forest. It was a thrill to add even more dimension and color to Asha’s custom “Wishing Tree” photo op with a collection of live plants and silk flowers inspired by a memorable scene in the film.
The customer liked our work so much, they invited us to dress the main stage and another “Wishing Tree” photo op at their “Light Up the Season” holiday parties for employees and D23 members. Once again, specific plants were selected to create a real-life version of the animated film. Custom plants and vines were fabricated for the stage, fireflies magically found their way to the studio lot, and Asha’s photo op got new extras for the larger display.
Separately, after approval from the film makers, we constructed dozens of physical “WISHES;” magical foggy spheres filled with sparkling clouds and pulsing with blue light to hang overhead in the lobby of Disney’s Animation Building.
Cross marketing was strong with this film and allowed us additional opportunities to provide creative services. Disney collaborated with Neiman Marcus for their 2023 holiday season Fantasy Gifts, including a Disney “Your Wish Come True” program. Together with 15|40 we helped the two world-famous magic makers with the concept, design, and installation of a “WISH” themed fashion window in Beverly Hills. Five mannequins dressed in high fashion were displayed on mirrored pedestals and floor with huge sparkling Swarovski Crystal “wishes” dancing in front of an illuminated WISH backdrop. It was stunning.
