Mary Poppins Returns
World Premiere

B. Creative Design & Services sourced decorative components for the red-carpet event and after party. Brenda was on site as the Assistant Art Director for the event, leading supervision of florals and other scenic elements. She also led the overdressing of the El Capitan Theatre including a prop and costume exhibit.

Our role on this project started with sourcing various scenic decor including artificial cherry blossom trees and florals, balloon clusters, and dozens of yards of custom printed fabric. Next was supervising the fabrication and assembly of each item in preparation for an efficient installation. Once on site, we oversaw the final installation and styling of these scenic elements along with table centerpieces and themed activities. It was a great honor to collaborate with the WDS Asset Management Team and costume designer Sandy Powell to create and style several prop and costume vignettes on raised platforms strategically placed throughout the after party.

Across the street at The El Capitan Theatre, we led the overdressing of the lobby, transforming it into Cherry Tree Lane. We dressed the auditorium’s opera boxes with cherry blossom trees, garlands, and large flickering lamp posts. Downstairs in the lower lounge we designed a prop exhibit and led installation efforts for a separate costume exhibit.
